Programme description
In the past years, beyond the training of social work, pedagogy and theology, the John Wesley College was actively participating in the educational and research activities in connection with the environmental safety and protection of natural and man-made disasters. With the aim to rasie the quality of research and study activities, the College established the Environmental Safety Research Institute. The vision of the institute is to be internationally known leader in understanding of and teaching concerning global environmental impacts on society with a view of general safety paradigms. The institute will serve as a significant research site, a center of high-quality information processing, expert and meaningful solution provider committed to sustainable human development. The John Wesley College trains applied environmental experts based on modern scientific principles. Their skills allow them to understand international level qualification and maintain professional relationships with other scientific fields related to the environmental science. The program teaches an application of environmental science profession together with ecological principles. As environmental science experts, they will be able to conduct research connected to environmental sciences. They can work for institutes engaged in the protection of environment and nature, for research and development centers, and for administrative authorities.
They can also participate in solving problems in the field of environment and nature safety protection in industry, water conservation, forestry, agriculture, public health, municipals and civil organizations. The environmental science study program prepares students to perform tasks which lead to a diagnosis and analysis of the problem before making a decision. The program also prepares students for managing professional matters in an innovation and cooperation way, it also prepares for solving management problems and tasks.
