Wesley College social work and theology students visited Berlin in November 2024 for a trinational exchange programme. The theme of the 2024/2025 trinational project is Prevention of Radicalisation in Germany, France and Hungary. The week spent in Berlin celebrated the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany, as well as Social Work Day. We also listened to theoretical lectures on radicalisation and extremism and visited institutions and projects working on the prevention of radicalisation. We learnt that we live in a time of crisis and that we cannot have a simple response, but that we need to respond and act in a well thought out and measured way. The programme will continue in March 2025 in Toulouse on the same theme. The two accompanying teachers were Balázs Szentesi and Tímea Bagdi.
