The doctoral degree awarded corresponds to international standards and equivalency conditions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"844\">The PhD degree certifies a high level of expertise in a particular research field, the contribution of original results to that field, and the candidate&#8217;s ability to conduct independent research.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"851\" data-end=\"883\">1. Objective of the Training<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"1117\">The aim of the individual preparation route is to support the acquisition of the knowledge and fundamental research skills necessary for earning a doctoral degree, and to contribute to the development of future academic researchers.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1124\" data-end=\"1147\">2. Form of Training<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1149\" data-end=\"1492\">The required level of knowledge for earning a doctoral degree can be achieved through <strong data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1261\">individual preparation<\/strong>, completing the research and dissertation phases within <strong data-start=\"1318\" data-end=\"1336\">four semesters<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1337\" data-end=\"1340\" \/>Applicants for individual preparation are expected to have significant teaching or research experience and a documented record of academic achievements.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1494\" data-end=\"2162\">Prior to admission, applicants must verify <strong data-start=\"1537\" data-end=\"1594\">scientific performance equivalent to 70 credit points<\/strong> (as defined in the Wesley Doctoral School of Theology and Religious Studies Training Plan), or at least <strong data-start=\"1648\" data-end=\"1715\">five years of documented teaching or academic research activity<\/strong> in the field of theology or religious education.<br data-start=\"1764\" data-end=\"1767\" \/>Applicants must submit a <strong data-start=\"1792\" data-end=\"1820\">publication points table<\/strong> and copies of their publications as proof. (Publications are considered foreign if published outside the applicant\u2019s country of citizenship; publications in a non-native language are considered foreign-language publications.)<br data-start=\"2046\" data-end=\"2049\" \/>Applicants for individual preparation <strong data-start=\"2087\" data-end=\"2127\">must also apply for the complex exam<\/strong> when submitting their application.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2169\" data-end=\"2197\">3. WTVDI Research Fields<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"2199\" data-end=\"2323\">\n<li data-start=\"2199\" data-end=\"2233\">\n<p data-start=\"2201\" data-end=\"2233\">Classical Theological Sciences<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2234\" data-end=\"2266\">\n<p data-start=\"2236\" data-end=\"2266\">Critical Studies in Theology<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2267\" data-end=\"2299\">\n<p data-start=\"2269\" data-end=\"2299\">Theological Applied Sciences<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2300\" data-end=\"2323\">\n<p data-start=\"2302\" data-end=\"2323\">Religious Education<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2325\" data-end=\"2583\">Within these fields, applicants may choose a research topic.<br data-start=\"2385\" data-end=\"2388\" \/>Applicants for individual PhD preparation may propose their <strong data-start=\"2448\" data-end=\"2470\">own research topic<\/strong>, provided that a qualified supervisor, approved by the Doctoral Committee, agrees to oversee the research.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2590\" data-end=\"2621\">4. Application Requirements<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2623\" data-end=\"2776\">Applications must be submitted according to \u00a726 of the Wesley Doctoral School of Theology and Religious Studies Operational Regulations, using the attached <strong data-start=\"2728\" data-end=\"2748\">application form<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"2749\" data-end=\"2752\" \/>Applicants must provide:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2778\" data-end=\"3128\">\n<li data-start=\"2778\" data-end=\"2852\">\n<p data-start=\"2780\" data-end=\"2852\">Proof of a <strong data-start=\"2791\" data-end=\"2810\">master&#8217;s degree<\/strong> or equivalent university qualification.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2853\" data-end=\"2995\">\n<p data-start=\"2855\" data-end=\"2995\">Evidence of prior scientific research, academic achievements, or publications that demonstrate the relevance of the chosen research topic.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2996\" data-end=\"3032\">\n<p data-start=\"2998\" data-end=\"3032\">A <strong data-start=\"3000\" data-end=\"3029\">preliminary research plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3033\" data-end=\"3128\">\n<p data-start=\"3035\" data-end=\"3128\">A letter of acceptance from the <strong data-start=\"3067\" data-end=\"3081\">supervisor<\/strong> responsible for the research area and topic.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3130\" data-end=\"3215\">Degrees obtained abroad will be recognized according to the regulations of the Wesley Doctoral School of Theology and Religious Studies.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3217\" data-end=\"3487\">Personal data of applicants will be processed in accordance with the <strong data-start=\"3286\" data-end=\"3304\">Privacy Policy<\/strong> available on the JWTC website. The personal data of admitted doctoral students will be processed based on a <strong data-start=\"3413\" data-end=\"3439\">declaration of consent<\/strong>, which can also be downloaded from the website.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3494\" data-end=\"3522\">5. Box 200<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4070\" data-end=\"4149\">\n<p data-start=\"4072\" data-end=\"4149\"><strong data-start=\"4072\" data-end=\"4084\">By email<\/strong> (however, email submissions must be confirmed with a paper copy)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4151\" data-end=\"4244\">For postal submissions, the envelope must be marked: <strong data-start=\"4206\" data-end=\"4244\">&#8220;APPLICATION FOR DOCTORAL PROGRAM&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4251\" data-end=\"4278\">6. Application Deadline<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4280\" data-end=\"4423\">Applications are accepted <strong data-start=\"4306\" data-end=\"4328\">on a rolling basis<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"4329\" data-end=\"4332\" \/>Admission interviews are held in <strong data-start=\"4365\" data-end=\"4387\">August and January<\/strong>, before the start of each semester.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4430\" data-end=\"4456\">7. Admission Interview<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4458\" data-end=\"4808\">Applicants who meet the formal requirements will be invited to an <strong data-start=\"4524\" data-end=\"4547\">admission interview<\/strong> by the Admissions Committee.<br data-start=\"4582\" data-end=\"4585\" \/>(For applicants residing abroad, interviews can be conducted <strong data-start=\"4646\" data-end=\"4656\">online<\/strong>.)<br data-start=\"4658\" data-end=\"4661\" \/>The purpose of the interview is to assess the applicant\u2019s academic background, scientific work, and the feasibility of the proposed research topic.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4815\" data-end=\"4857\">8. Evaluation of the Admission Process<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4859\" data-end=\"5069\">Following the interview, the committee evaluates the applicant.<br data-start=\"4922\" data-end=\"4925\" \/>A <strong data-start=\"4927\" data-end=\"4952\">maximum of 100 points<\/strong> can be awarded. A <strong data-start=\"4971\" data-end=\"4995\">minimum of 80 points<\/strong> is required for successful admission to the individual preparation route.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5071\" data-end=\"5210\">The committee\u2019s recommendation is forwarded to the <strong data-start=\"5122\" data-end=\"5150\">Doctoral Committee<\/strong>, which makes the final decision and notifies the applicant.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5212\" data-end=\"5278\">Interview dates will be communicated separately to each applicant.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5285\" data-end=\"5320\">9.
