{"id":3206,"date":"2020-11-06T22:23:29","date_gmt":"2020-11-06T20:23:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wesley.hu\/wesley-college\/?p=3206"},"modified":"2020-11-08T13:03:27","modified_gmt":"2020-11-08T11:03:27","slug":"geologicalfieldexcercise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wesley.hu\/wesley-college\/2020\/11\/06\/geologicalfieldexcercise\/","title":{"rendered":"GeologicalFieldExcercise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The international students majoring in Environmental Sciencetook part in a field exercise led by Zsuzsanna Plank on October 30th.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3209\" src=\"https:\/\/wesley.hu\/wesley-college\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/kep2-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first stop was the <em>Time Trail<\/em> exhibited in front of the Hungarian Natural History Museum where the multi-ton rocks illustrate hundreds of millions of years of the earth\u2019s geological time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3210\" src=\"https:\/\/wesley.hu\/wesley-college\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/kep5-300x227.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"227\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The interactive lesson gave an opportunity to the students to study the rocks representing the characteristic formations in Hungary; to practice rock recognition; to recognize and identify the effects caused by geological events.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3211\" src=\"https:\/\/wesley.hu\/wesley-college\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/kep3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We continued our tour to Buda, Gell\u00e9rt Hill, and then headed north along the Danube all the way to Castle Hill.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3212\" src=\"https:\/\/wesley.hu\/wesley-college\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/kep4-300x229.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"229\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During our trip we got acquainted with\u00a0geological history of Budapest and studied at its traces on the surface outcrops.Thus we could examine the characteristics of the main geological formations of Budapest up close.
